Slimfold Bifold Doors : Slimfold prefinished metal folding doors

Provide steel bifold wardrobe and closet doors, so specified to be Slimfold prefinished metal folding doors manufactured by Slimfold® Products Division, meet or exceed Voluntary Product Standard PS38-70, as published by the U.S. Department of Commerce, National Bureau of Standards.

ARRANGEMENT

Prefinished panels and reinforcing stiffeners shall be 24-gage cold rolled steel.
Alternate for coastal areas with high salt content atmosphere: A hot dipped coating of zinc-iron alloy (galvanized) is recommended. Also recommended for bathrooms, laundry rooms, HVAC areas or any high-humidity situation. Contact factory for proper re-painting.
Door panels shall be accurately formed and reinforced with 4" side stiffeners welded to backs and flanges of panels. Panels shall be hinged in pairs with a minimum of 10" (25.40cm) of piano-type hinges. Panels to be sound-deadened with corrugated fiberboard or absorbent, as option.
Top and bottom tracks are galvanized steel standard or .050 aluminum as an option.
Patented weight bearing pivot rods to be 9/16" (.079cm) diameter, adjustable screw type, and securely held in position by nylon rod clamp assemblies.
Guide rods and upper pivot rods shall be 1/4" (.064cm) in diameter, spring loaded for easy self-alignment, and securely held in position by self-retaining nylon sleeves.
All mounting hardware shall be factory installed. Rods to be zinc plated cold rolled steel with yellow dichromate finish.
Pivot sockets and rubber track bumpers shall be adjustable to allow lateral alignment and be preset in the track. Sockets are steel zinc plated and waxed.
Mill finish bottomless track bracket available as an option. Consists of one bracket, socket and mounting screws per two-panel unit. Alignment brackets included on four-panel units.
Hardware packages consisting of knobs or pulls, screws and discs to be supplied with each door.
