Create Your Own Product Models

To create and submit your product models, follow these steps:

1. Download and Review Autodesk Seek Resources

   Autodesk® Revit® Model Content Style Guide: Useful guidance for the process of creating BIM-ready 3D product models.

   Autodesk Seek Metadata Style Guide: Style and formatting guidelines for product information—based on commonly used industry standards—that facilitate a rich user experience in Autodesk Seek.

   Autodesk Seek Product Workbook: Additional information, to be used in conjunction with the Autodesk Seek Metadata Style Guide, for organizing, formatting, and evaluating your product data. You will complete a line item in the Product Workbook spreadsheet for each product model you submit.

2. Model Development

   Create BIM-ready 3D product models, following the guidelines and standards in the Autodesk Revit Model Content Style Guide as you work.

3. Product Workbook QA Review

   Use the simple Microsoft® Excel® interface to perform a 200- point inspection as provided in the Product Workbook. If you need assistance, your Content Operations professional is available to help. Please contact seek.content@autodesk.com.

4. Content Submission and Approval

   Send your newly created files and a copy of your completed Product Workbook to seek.content@autodesk.com for evaluation and approval by the Autodesk Seek Content Operations team. After reviewing your files, we will place your new BIM-ready models and their corresponding product pages in an online staging area where you can review them, provide feedback, and, once they're final, approve them for syndication.

5. Syndication

   Once you have reviewed and approved your product pages, we will syndicate the models through the Autodesk Seek web service.
